BeatsBingo is made by DotAlt Events, based in the United Kingdom. This policy covers the BeatsBingo app for Mac and iPad and this website, beatsbingo.live. The short version: the app is designed so that your data stays with you, and this website does not track you.
The app
No accounts, no tracking
BeatsBingo has no sign-up and no user accounts. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, store or sell any personal information.
Your content stays on your device
Playlists, music and video files, venue and sponsor logos, and game history are stored only on your Mac or iPad. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Players on the local network
When you host a game, your device runs a private game server on your local Wi-Fi network. Players join from their phone's browser by scanning a QR code and enter a display name. Those names exist only in your device's memory for the session and are visible only to you as the host. Nothing about your players leaves the room.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the Party Pass are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchase records are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
Apple Music
If you connect Apple Music, playback uses your own Apple Music subscription through Apple's MusicKit. BeatsBingo does not read or store your listening history.
Error reports
If something goes wrong you can generate an error report in Settings. The report contains app and system version details and recent technical log lines from the app. It is created on your device and is only sent if you choose to share it, using the standard share sheet. We only ever receive an error report because you decided to send it to us.
This website
beatsbingo.live contains no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and there are no user accounts. We see only aggregate visit numbers, such as how many people viewed a page. Nothing in those numbers identifies you.
The site itself sets no cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set one strictly necessary cookie of its own to protect the site from automated abuse. It exists for security, not for tracking you.
Like every website, our hosting provider processes visitors' IP addresses for the moments needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not receive, store or analyse that information ourselves.
Contact, support and demo bookings
The site has forms for support enquiries and for booking a venue demo. When you use one, we receive the details you enter: your name, your email address, your venue or business name if you give one, and an optional phone number and message. That information is handled and stored for us by Cloudflare on servers in the European Union, and delivered to our support mailbox. No other company processes it, it is never used for marketing, and we never share or sell contact details. We use it only to deal with your request. Once your enquiry is closed, the stored copy and the mailbox copy are both deleted automatically after 6 months. We keep nothing beyond that.
The same applies if you email us directly at [email protected]: your address and message are used only to reply and are deleted on the same schedule.
Your rights
The only personal data we ever hold is what you send us through the contact form, by email, or in an error report, and it is deleted automatically 6 months after your enquiry is closed. At any time before then you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it sooner: contact [email protected] and we will act on it. Under UK data protection law you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date. Since the app collects nothing and the site holds only support enquiries on a 6-month clock, changes are expected to be rare.
